   We find Ardmore, Oklahoma to be an ideal location for flight training for a variety of reasons.  Living expenses are among the cheapest in the nation; Airspace is generally uncluttered; Tower Operations are possible within a 5 to 10 minute flight; Class G airspace exists at our facility; People are generally friendly and crime rates are low; Instrument approaches are readily available; Lovely lakes and recreation areas surround the city with other interesting opportunities available within a few hours drive or a short cross-country adventure; Metropolitan access is immanent, yet Ardmore has fewer distractions and problems than the larger cities.  When all is said and done it is not possible to list all the reasons Ardmore is such a good locale - It must be experienced.  Perhaps the overriding consideration for many is simply the people are friendly and the cost of living is low. 

Weather is a major factor in flying at any location and Ardmore is no exception.  Although the summers can occasionally be quite warm, Oklahoma's climate is generally favorable for pilots, with temperate winters and very comfortable temperatures in the spring and autumn.

   Every flier grows accustomed to factoring the wind into their flight schedule:  we have almost always finished our tasks in the time allotted.

   We hope you have the opportunity to visit our community.  Ardmore was voted an All-American City by Life magazine in the 1970's, and has only improved upon itself since then.
